Assistance League of Greater Cincinnati

The New Beginnings Program of the Assistance League of Greater Cincinnati was developed to serve victims of abuse. Women and children who are leaving area shelters to start a new home from their abusers are provided with household item kits that contain bedding, pots and pans, dishes, silverware, towels, cleaning supplies and children’s necessities. The main goal is for the victims to live in a safe, peaceful environment and to be able to start life anew. To-date approximately 900 women and 900 children have benefitted from this program. The Assistance League of Greater Cincinnati serves counties in the Greater Cincinnati area and Northern Kentucky.

Operation School Bell is another program conducted through the Assistance League of Greater Cincinnati. Underprivileged elementary students attending Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky Schools receive new school clothing including pants, shirts, underwear, socks, belts, and jackets. Each child also receives hygiene supplies and a personalized reusable bag. Over the last 20 years, 24,376 children have benefitted from this program.

Both programs of the Assistance League of Greater Cincinnati have received grants from funds of the Cambridge Charitable Foundation.
