Robert F. Miles Charitable Fund

Robert Miles was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on June 3, 1915 and grew up in Coryville. As a young boy, he would go to the blacksmith and ride horses to and from the dairy to get the horses that delivered milk shod. Mr. Miles did this until he was about 16 years old. Around the age of 18 or 19, Robert Miles was involved in a serious automobile accident that left him with a crippled leg. Mr. Miles was an engineer with his main focus being mechanical drawing and design. He was an avid reader and collector of antiques.

Robert Miles and his wife, Delores, had one son who was deaf. Mr. Miles wife preceded him in death over twenty years ago.

Robert Miles died on February 19, 2006 at the age of 90. The Robert F. Miles Fund of the Cambridge Charitable Foundation was then set up in 2006 to make annual grants to qualified 501(c)(3) charitable organizations that operate in the Greater Cincinnati area. The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati is a recipient of distributions through this fund.
