Sample Bequest Language

Charitable giving can be an important part of the legacy you choose to leave. Making a charitable contribution to the Cambridge Charitable Foundation through your will allows you to support the organizations and causes you care about, while maximizing the tax benefits to your estate.

You can make a bequest to the Foundation by creating a new will, adding a codicil to your existing will, or naming the Foundation in your living trust. You may also designate the Foundation as a beneficiary of a life insurance policy or qualified retirement plan.

To designate the Foundation as a beneficiary, we recommend that you use the following wording:

“I give ( ___ dollars) or ( ___ % of the residue of my estate) to the Cambridge Charitable Foundation (or any successor corporation), an Ohio not-for-profit corporation.

If you prefer, you can direct your gift to a new or existing fund at the Foundation:

“I give ( ___ dollars) or ( ___ % of the residue of my estate) to the Cambridge Charitable Foundation (or any successor corporation), an Ohio not-for-profit corporation with its office in Cincinnati, Ohio, to support/establish the ___ Fund.”

Please review your proposed bequest language with Foundation Trustees to ensure that your charitable intent can be fulfilled.
